MalaMala was the first private game reserve in South Africa to recognise the importance of prioritising the conservation of the land and protecting the fragile ecosystem by prohibiting hunting and making the transition to photographic safaris.
MalaMala Game Reserve is one of the largest private Big Five game reserves in South Africa.
It shares an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park and lies strategically between the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve.

Mala Mala Main Camp offers guests 10 Luxury Suites, 8 x Luxury Rooms and 1 x Single Room.
Suites and Rooms vary from 40 square metres to 85 square metres.
Decks are around 20 square metres offering ample space to unwind and relax.

En-suite bathroom with private toilet – the suites have both a bath and a shower whilst the luxury rooms only have a shower.

Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros are the most sought-after and dangerous of the world’s big game.

But he knew that without fear we might lose our respect for these creatures, so he put the five here to help us remember.
The lion and leopard taught us the fear of the night, that only the daytime was ours.
